The Kilimanjaro Climb for Peace begins!

Hi,

this is Lance writing from an internet cafe in Tanzania, Africa! I hope you have enjoyed the pictures that have been posted the last couple of days...

Today (July 15th) we leave the Springlands Hotel in Moshi, Tanzania and we will start our 8 day climb of Mt. Kilimanjaro. We will be taking "the road less traveled" - the Lemosho route. We have a great team consisting of some members from our Everest team and some new friends who have joined us specially for this Kilimanjaro climb. We are all having a great time - we have a wonderful group and have had some amazing opportunities to spend time sightseeing and meeting and making new friends.

Our climb will last from July 15th until July 22nd. There will be no updates until then...but upon our return we will have plenty of pictures, stories, and video to share with you all!

On the summit of Kilimanjaro our multi-cultural team will plant the UN flag - a symbol of unity and international community.

It's through actions of peace that peace is spread. We hope our small climb will propel others to similiar actions of peace and teamwork.
